Ian Williams

Ian holds Check status from CESG, proving he has the skill sets required to conduct penetration tests to Government standards.

As well as testing he conducts security research against various technologies, as well as organising community security education events such as the OWASP Birmingham chapter.

Ian has a firm understanding of many technologies, and as such, can perform thorough penetration tests on a variety of applications, languages, platforms and technologies. Ian has also worked closely with large ecommerce companies as well as several public sector organisations and National Critical Infrastructure.

Ian has previously worked in smaller boutique companies carrying out a wide range of testing for numerous industries including Government, Public sector and National retailers. Ian has also worked extensively within the energy sector for National Power and RWEnpower.

During Ian’s time at RWEnpower he managed the UK Operational Security team responsible for incident response, security policy and internal project consultation.

This mix of project and client management as well as technical functions has allowed Ian to hone a rounded skillset allowing him to communicate findings to all levels within an organisation, communicating business impacts and process failures not just the technical aspects of issues.
