Many industrial controllers have also migrated from so-called bare-metal operating systems toward embedded Linux. This can reduce cost and time-to-market, but can bring a whole new set of challenges. OT is starting to look more like IoT from a security perspective. A wag suggested that the ‘S’ in ‘IoT’ stood for ‘Security’ – is it really that bad?
