Security and Resilience for Connected Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs)

13.07.23 @ 9:30 am - 2:00 pm

London, United Kingdom

“The Connected Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) space is novel and constantly evolving. It is so much more than just driverless cars โ€“ it is an ecosystem of interconnected industries across a large number of sectors, covering all forms of transport (road, rail and air) and a range of associated infrastructures up to and including smart cities. The challenges are many and varied, the threats are both traditional and emerging, industry standards are immature but developing, and the potential for change and innovation is massive.

CAVs require strong multi-layered security and resilience that leverages existing safety and security frameworks. Industry best practices must be developed and adopted. Solutions will not come cheap; manufacturers and customers may be reluctant to bear the extra cost. But by employing new technologies such as AI, cloud technologies and smart robotics, then improved security, safety and reliability are possible
and fraud can be reduced.”
