Job description
As Sales Manager you will be accountable for the leadership of one of the UK sales teams at PTP.
The primary objective of the role is to ensure that sufficient profitable sales are generated and delivered by the sales team for the business to meet its revenue and profit targets, whilst keeping the costs of sales team operations within budget
You will represent the sales team at sales leadership sessions and will play a crucial role in the success of both the team you are responsible for and the wider business.
Responsibilities
Key deliverables of this role include:
- Monthly 1-1 sessions, quarterly and annual reviews of direct reports
- Holding direct reports to account, addressing poor behaviours and reinforcing good behaviours
- Defining, measuring and improving KPI’s for the team
- Performance managing underperforming direct reports as required
- Helping troubleshoot issues for the team, contributing to a smooth flow of work through the business
- Aiding the head of sales with recruiting and interviewing for new employees
- Helping plan and lead a weekly sales call
- Advising the head of sales around team structure and broader strategy
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of policies to make processes clear to the team
- Providing training and support to the team
- Where required by the head of sales, liaise with counterparts in other departments to improve communication and process
- Help organise and run quarterly team meetings
- Contribute, when required by the head of sales, to the budgeting and strategic planning process
People
Lead and mentor a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, motivation, reward, and support to ensure team-wide success
Ensure you and they uphold the culture and values of the business
Ensure your direct reports deliver against their targets and objectives, holding them accountable and supporting performance improvement if and where required
Lead by example; documenting discussions and sharing those documents, allocating actions with timely deadlines and holding to account
Reporting
Present relevant and accurate management information regarding the performance of your sales team to the head of sales.
Provide weekly and monthly detailed reporting to the head of sales to enable them to report performance to the operational board
Use Salesforce reporting to provide real time analysis of sales team performance
Actively measure and monitor success in your team, using data to underpin key business objectives.
Process
To ensure the sales team is process-driven, with all processes documented, communicated, shared openly and adhered to.
To contribute to process change, ensuring that your team feels listened to and that they have contributed to change.
Collaboration
To collaborate effectively with other departments through the head of sales, using data to drive business decisions.
To ensure that your team proactively takes ownership to help other departments resolve challenges that relate to sales
To contribute to new service development, bringing sales expertise and market knowledge to these
To provide analysis and solutions from customer feedback to help improve our offerings.
Strategy
In conjunction with the Head of Sales, Contribute to the development and execution of a strategy to ensure the business meets its targets en route to and after IPO
Plan and implement strategies for growth in US and European markets
Develop sales strategies to acquire new clients in high-margin sectors
Collaborate with marketing to develop lead generation
Measurement
Delivery of sales and revenue targets per service area within budgeted cost base for the sales team that you are responsible for
Supervision
The Sales Manager will report to the head of sales and be tasked with setting and delivering the plan for their sales team. The Sales Manager should raise concerns or challenges to the Head of Sales promptly

Experience of leading and growing a sales team against ambitious growth plans
Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
Demonstrate excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
Proven ability to communicate, present and influence at all levels of the company
